PURE was founded and is led by an executive team with deep expertise in the HNW insurance category and a track record of strong operating results.

After more than a decade with the Chubb Group, Ross Buchmueller founded AIG Private Client Group in the late 1990s. Together with an outstanding team of professionals, they succeeded at creating a thriving specialist insurance operation using their deep expertise in the high net worth market.

In 2006, Ross and two colleagues, Martin Hartley and Jeff Paraschac, set their sights on building a newer and better model grounded in alignment of interests with the policyholder. PURE began accepting new members the following year.

In 2014, Ross Buchmueller was recognized as EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

The PURE Group is rated A- (Excellent) for financial strength from A.M. Best and received a “positive outlook” for the second year in a row in 2016. The rating is reflective of PURE’s capitalization, comprehensive reinsurance program, and operating performance. According to A.M. Best, “The PURE management team, with extensive experience in the niche market of high net worth personal lines, has built a strong culture of service supported by scalable operating systems.”
